Welcome to St. Paul Lutheran Church
St. Paul Lutheran Church is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and one of the oldest Lutheran congregations in Washington state. We celebrated our 120th anniversary in 2016. Pastor Melissa Johnson and the congregation participate in a wide variety of ministries and activities, including bible studies, Sunday School, a church retreat each October, Coats For Kids, quilting for charity, and an active women’s group.
What will you find when you come to St. Paul Lutheran Church?
“Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 1:17
Many of our new members say that when they first walked into this church, they felt like they had come home. There is a strong sense of authentic community in this congregation. You won’t go unnoticed here! People at St. Paul are sincerely welcoming and caring, providing genuine Christian hospitality to all who come through our doors.
This church feels like home because God is at work here. God makes Himself known to us as the Word is proclaimed and the Lord’s Supper is shared in worship. God is with us as we gather together for the Bible studies and opportunities for Christian education that we enjoy here. God blesses us as we enjoy fellowship – be it over coffee and cookies after worship, during a Lenten soup supper, or at a potluck dinner.
This church feels like home because the fruits of the Spirit, such as kindness, generosity and love, are found here. It feels like home because when any of us fail to bear these good fruits, it is a place of forgiveness. It feels like home because a diverse and all-too-human group of people have been made into a family of brothers and sisters in Christ, through the love and grace of the Lord Jesus.
When you come to St. Paul, you will find a church that feels like home – because God is at work here, making a home for Himself. And for us. And for you.
